The first thing I had to do was decide that I wanted to at least explore the possibility that someone might be able to help me. Then I had to take the plunge and get in touch with WIIT. Once I spoke with them I felt kind of hopeful. They seemed to actually know what I was talking about. The second step was to let them verify my coverage. They explained that there was no obligation at all, and no matter what I thought I knew about my insurance or Medicare, the hospital still had to do it themselves. So I just let them. It turned out that they made a one time arrangement with my HMO and I was able to go in.
Then I needed to make flight arrangements to Fort Lauderdale airport and call the hospital with my flight and arrival time. Then they arranged to pick me up. They will also pick up from the railroad and bus stations.
If I could do it then I know you can, too! So go ahead and take your first step... Contact WIIT. Simply fill out the email form on the following page, and if you choose, someone from WIIT will contact you as soon as possible or send you a free information packet.
Good luck to you! You're going to be fine!
