WIIT offers both. Some of us went into the Intensive Outpatient Program from inpatient and used it as an extended care program. Others, who lived near the hospital, entered directly from the outside and used it as a primary treatment modality. I found the content of the IOP to be essentially the same as the inpatient program. The day is about four hours long, Monday to Friday. The two real differences from inpatient that I found were that IOP was less intense and was also concerned with my ability to function outside of the hospital.

What if I live too far away to drive back and forth?
The IOP staff will help you by providing a list of short term residences which patients have used while attending the program. The hospital will provide transportation within the Broward County, north Dade County area.
